Loch Ness, who hasn't heard of Loch Ness and its world famous Loch Ness Monster known locally as Nessie. Located only 25 minutes from Home Farm, Loch Ness is the largest of the four freshwater lochs that are in that marvellous geographical fault line known as the Great Glen. This geological "fault" runs from Inverness in the north to Fort William in the south, the Caledonian Canal connecting the Atlantic Ocean with the North Sea runs its entire length and interconnects with the four natural lochs. Aside from Nessie spotting the area has much to recommend it. Both Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus are pleasant interesting villages, and ideal for lunch or afternoon tea/coffee (and cake!!). Of course many visitors are attracted to Urquhart Castle, although a ruin it has much to offer the visitor. Also popular with our guests are the numerous boat trip packages that can be taken on Loch Ness, these vary in time and starting location and some can be combined with a visit to the Castle. Again we are only too pleased to assist guests requiring help with booking a trip.
